Stating the obvious

I writing for no other reason than that I'm avoiding writing my essay.

I'm sure I used to be able to bash out an essay at will. It's such a effort these days. Fortunately this one is actually medically based. The worst are the reflective ones. One has to open one's soul and pour forth profundities unto one's tutors.

I get a bit self conscious at having to write about an area I've only been studying for a week or two, knowing that an expert in the field is going to be reading it. I come out with all sorts of phrases that sound trite. Or just plain obvious to the level of being pointless. Like my old History of Medicine project on midwifery in Year 9, eh, Ian? Opening sentence: "Throughout history women have played an important role in childbirth."

Today's essay carries in it such gems as: "Although survival rates for the year ending March 2006 were 98% in the UK, aortic valve replacement carries with it various risks."

Like that 2% who die, perhaps?

Oh well, back to it. Sorry for the ramble.
