House and Czech music

We're hard into revision time now (evidenced by the fact that I have started bogging again). Unfortunately there isn't all that much time for revision as we're also meant to be learning about rheumatology and orthopaedics ('straight growth', Hairy, 'straight growth'). This involves extended periods of time in A&E and on the rheum wards (or in clinic where apparently I am a sweety-pie!?) being taught by Hull's very only Dr Gregory House MD (pseudonym). Yes, this is the doctor everyone sends their patients too when they no longer have a clue what's wrong. And yes, she has a white board.

Anyway, in the spirit of hard working revision time, I went to see the Prague Symphony Orchestra yesterday. Hull is not the first place you would think of if someone jumped out from behind a shrubbery and shouted "cultured residents" at you, and the turn out was less than impressive. I sat at the back amidst the longer serving members of Hull society. Now, it's a little know medical phenomenon that old people are unable to whisper. Something about age related pressure changes in the larynx. However, they are also unaware of this phenomenon due to a degeneration of the oto-laryngeal neuro-feedback system. And thus it was that I enjoyed a little critical appraisal of the Prague Symphony's interpretation of Smetana's Ma Vlast, without even paying extra.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
