NHS appliances
Following on from the Adventure of the Washer-Dryer, domestic chores continue to be the mainstay of entertainment in Scunthorpe. This is mostly because there's only so many times you can visit the supermarket in the space of a week. Ironing here in NHS-ville must be undertaken during the hours of daylight. The corridor wherein resides the ironing board has a (and I've timed this) 17 and a half second timer light switch, meaning you can just about iron a collar or a cuff, before you have to run to the light switch, press it and run back to the ironing board. The 'steam' iron itself is primarily a large (and disconcertingly sticky) plastic repository for water, and emits little in the warm of warmth.
But fear not, my dear tax payers, I'm sure the MRI machines and CT scanners are maintained with a little more zeal.
Somebody write to me and give me something to do!!
