Quick, man! Click on the patient before it's too late!
I learnt today that there is now a computer game of the TV show ER. To those of us who thought the only way to experience the highly realistic glamour and glory of medicine was to qualify in an appropriate field of healthcare, this has come as a shock. This game offers the opportunity to "train in 6 different areas of medicine" and at £24.99 it is considerably cheaper than a medical degree.
You may also look forward to more ECGs. I've taken a lab based option on cardiovascular and respiratory physiology. Apparently we'll be measuring ECGs while sticking our heads in a bucket of water. Can't wait.
Well, that's it. I have to run down a corridor in slow-motion now, with my white coat streaming out behind me and a look of pained, yet confident, determination on my designer-stubble framed face, in the certain knowledge that, as the sun sets behind the windy city and some guy on an acoustic guitar sings soulfully about the humble heroism of our noble calling, another life will be soon be saved.

Photo? I want the video! And one of those moving-picture frames you see in sci-fi things so it can go on my wall as a permenant reminder that I'll never look nearly as cool in my boilersuit as a chartered engineer...
