Make way for Tiger Holland

This morning I received a letter from the British Medical Association inviting me to enter their annual regional golf competition. What a great opportunity to mingle with members of my future profession and prove my one-of-them-ness. Unfortunately, I don't really play golf. But I'm still a little tempted to enter. I mean, as far as I can work out, golf is some sort of variation on Topgolf, except they've taken away the targets and you get more than one attempt to hit each ball in the hole.

Meanwhile, not five minutes walk from here, Baroness Bottomley is being inaugurated as Chancellor of Hull University. More opportunity to rub shoulders with the mighty. Rumour has it that the Chief Medical Officer is there getting an honorary DSc. Although, he will actually receive the degree at York University and appear at the ceremony in Hull by video link.

Finally, for those of you present for the little discussion on Friday night, I include the following screen-print with as much humility as I can muster and just a little gloating.

There's no such thing!

High Five!

Was this, by any chance, a discussion prompted by the hit TV series "House" ?

I think Scrubs were more a part of it, not House... although my memories of that conversation are mixed with visions of running along a platform trying desperately not to die.

So I might not be such a reliable source.
